Electrical system upgrades to support wastewater treatment facility.
With significant upgrades to wastewater treatment processes needed, the facilities existing electrical system required a substantial renovation in order to support the additional electrical loads. The project included a replacement of the existing electrical service with a new 2000A 480/277V 3 phase service and its associated switchgear, including an integrated automatic transfer switch and 600kW standby generator system. This complex project involved removing existing motor control centers, panelboards, and feeders throughout the plant and integrating new equipment with electrical distribution. This was challenging as the facility had to remain operational throughout the entire project. The electrical design also supported process equipment including: (2) new clarifiers, plant effluent ultraviolet disinfection system, effluent water reuse system, sludge pumping equipment, and SCADA controls.
