A complete redesign and renovation from casual restaurant into a City Marina.
In 2011 the building, a casual restaurant, was damaged extensively by flooding and then abandoned. AES worked with the City of Plattsburgh to redesign and renovate the structure into a new City Marina building. Mold abatement and testing preceded renovation. Water-resistant sheetrock and plastic barriers were used to protect against any possible future floods. The renovation required a new floor plan including a reception desk and sales office for tour and rental operations, shower and laundry facilities for marina guests, and office space. It also included new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The entire project, design through occupancy, was completed on client’s tight time schedule of 4.5 months, and construction costs came is slightly under budget.
