Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School Domestic Hot Water Improvements
Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School
Elizabethtown, New York
Design of replacement hot water system for the Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School.
Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School suffered from aging and failing hot water storage tanks and numerous electric point-of-use water heaters, most of which had already failed. AES provided design services to replace the existing main storage tanks with (2) 175 gallon ASME tanks, new oil-fired water heater, new master thermostatic mixing valve assembly, and new hot water distribution and recirculation to areas of the school previously served by the point-of-use heaters. Also included in this project was replacement of the building’s main heating hot water distribution pumps.
Special Notes of Interest: AES was also able to phase and coordinate the project for completion while school was in session, a requirement of the school district, continually meeting NYS Education Dept. standards throughout the process.
